I usually find myself asking questions to myself. That is a way I reflect. So, when I was starting this blog, the question in my head was; why am I doing this? For whom am I doing this? Both the question had the same answer, for ‘me’.
Yes, it was primarily for me. I wanted to relive the thoughts that I was reflecting. I wanted to relive them because I liked when I was in that thought process. I relive them because practice makes you better and I wanted a better way of putting those thoughts in order, so I can follow them and incorporate them in everyday life. But this is also for everyone, each of us who want to reflect their life by themselves and everyone who want to reflect in a better way. Yes, it is for you too.
Why the name ‘What Buddha Says’?
I am not pro- in any “guruism” nor I am a preacher. I choose this name because I am a big fan of Buddhism even though I do not come from the background. I am from Nepal. So, I definitely find myself much near to Buddhism and I have been known to this way of living since my childhood. I always felt a connection and admired Buddhism.
It is a very simple religion and the most peaceful. One could write pages about it, or one could explain it in a couple of sentences. I choose the later one. Buddhism for me says; Never harm any being, Living in the present is the best way of living and, Be kind and affectionate to everyone including yourself.
In Hinduism we have this strange culture of worshiping everything, like stones, trees, dogs, crows etc. It is believe every being itself is a sacred being and a avatar of god. I am not a big believer of god. But I like the idea of treating all of us as a sacred being. Imagine that amount of peace. So, when I see people I try to see Buddha in them. The peaceful person they are inside. So, you are a Buddha, I am a Buddha, We all are Buddha.
That’s why ‘What Buddha Says’
Love,
Prabin Shrestha
